Pay raise comparison
Your inputs
Complete only the fields for your selected method. Use one consistent job or reporting period. Use zero for a known zero amount only when the field permits it. Missing costs and market rates are not added automatically. Currency selection labels amounts; it does not convert exchange rates.
How this calculation works
hourly difference = proposed rate − current rate; annual gross pay = hourly rate × paid hours per week × paid weeks; percentage change = difference / current rate.
Hold paid hours and weeks constant to isolate the rate change. The result excludes taxes, benefits, overtime premiums and changes in hours.
What information do I need?
Use records for the same job, equipment or accounting period. Only the fields for your selected entry method are required. An unknown amount is not zero.
Input definitions and where to find them
- Current hourly rate (selected currency): Use matching records or an explicitly identified assumption for current hourly rate. Unknown is not the same as zero.
- Proposed hourly rate (selected currency): Use matching records or an explicitly identified assumption for proposed hourly rate. Unknown is not the same as zero.
- Paid hours in a typical week (hours): Use matching records or an explicitly identified assumption for paid hours in a typical week. Unknown is not the same as zero.
- Paid weeks in the annual comparison (weeks): Use matching records or an explicitly identified assumption for paid weeks in the annual comparison. Unknown is not the same as zero.
Use the Where to find this value controls beside the inputs for available work-it-out helpers. Estimates remain your assumptions; a helper does not verify the source figures.
