Your inputs

Complete the fields for your selected method. Zero means intentionally zero, not unknown. Currency selection labels amounts; it does not convert exchange rates.

How this calculation works

net worth = sum(current asset values) - sum(outstanding liabilities)

Use the same valuation date, ownership share and currency. Enter asset values and debt balances separately; do not enter home equity as the asset and also deduct the full mortgage. Avoid duplicate accounts or jointly owned amounts counted twice. This is not an appraisal, liquid cash balance, credit score or tax calculation.

What information do I need?

Use records for the same job, equipment or accounting period. Only the fields for your selected entry method are required. An unknown amount is not zero.

Input definitions and where to find them
  • Assets at current supplied values: Use matching records or a clearly stated assumption for the indicated period. Prefilled figures are illustrative. An unknown value is not zero.
    • Asset: Use matching records or an explicitly identified assumption for asset. Unknown is not the same as zero.
    • Asset value (selected currency): Use matching records or an explicitly identified assumption for asset value. Unknown is not the same as zero.
  • Liabilities at outstanding balances: Use matching records or a clearly stated assumption for the indicated period. Prefilled figures are illustrative. An unknown value is not zero.
    • Liability: Use matching records or an explicitly identified assumption for liability. Unknown is not the same as zero.
    • Outstanding balance (selected currency): Use matching records or an explicitly identified assumption for outstanding balance. Unknown is not the same as zero.

Use the Where to find this value controls beside the inputs for available work-it-out helpers. Estimates remain your assumptions; a helper does not verify the source figures.

Use the result well

Add supplied asset values and outstanding liabilities to calculate a dated personal net-worth snapshot.

Keep inputs on the same scope and time basis. Calculations retain precision internally; displayed values generally round to two decimal places, with extra precision for very small values and whole-unit rounding where required. Economic comparisons describe your supplied assumptions and do not guarantee future results.
