Market price references for practical decisions
Connect published prices to quantities, operating costs, purchase fees and transaction requirements. A market reference is not a guaranteed price you can trade at.

The feed configuration identifies its cadence; the source supplies the observation date. BusCalc separately shows when a report was retrieved and, where supplied, published. Refreshing a weekly report does not turn it into a live price. We reject malformed, future-dated or old data instead of silently substituting a stale figure.
| Source | Cadence and scope | How to use it |
|---|---|---|
| Gold API | Approximately 30-second provider snapshots, USD per fine troy ounce | Review and apply a quote for gold, silver, platinum or palladium. Two-minute application age limit. |
| EIA | Weekly reported retail gasoline and on-highway diesel averages, USD per US gallon, selected U.S. regions | Choose the matching fuel and region. Reference averages do not establish your local station or contract price. Reports over 14 days old cannot be applied. |
| ECB | Daily business-day reference rates, currency units per EUR | BusCalc derives your selected cross-rate; it is not an executable bank rate. Reports over seven days old cannot be applied. Weekends and holidays can retain the preceding publication. |
Other industries and future data connections
Fuel references support transport, delivery, farming, construction equipment and generators. Currency references support importing, exporting, international purchases and bullion comparison. EIA also publishes oil, natural gas and monthly electricity series; USDA Market News covers livestock, grain, dairy and produce. Electricity, customer natural-gas, propane and heating-oil cost tools are linked above with their own dated EIA reports; averages are not local tariffs. Other additional series are not connected. No stock exchange or dealer price is scraped or represented as licensed live data.
Method, provenance and permitted reuse
- Gold API commercial-use terms and feed documentation.
- EIA reuse policy and Gasoline and Diesel Fuel Update.
- ECB disclaimer and reuse conditions and daily currency reference rates.
- U.S. Mint Gold Eagle fine versus gross weight. Known fine content is entered directly; purity is not applied twice.
Calculations run in your browser. Reference requests are public GET requests to fixed provider URLs through BusCalc; quantities, customer information and transaction details are not sent upstream. Existing page-view analytics remains separate. No calculation is automatically saved online.
