Project Completion Window Planner

Should you start earlier, arrive at 2 PM, or choose another day? Compare arrival times using task dependencies, shared crews and equipment, duration uncertainty, your work calendar and a dated local forecast.

Completion percentages describe your entered scenarios against a frozen forecast. They are not a probability of safe work or a promise that the weather will cooperate.

Inspect detailed local weather · Decision Feasibility Calculator

Start with the job, then add the factors that matter

  1. Enter arrival options, a deadline, crews and task durations.
  2. For outdoor tasks, load local weather and select an outdoor profile on each affected task.
  3. Review readiness checks and optional costs, delays or rework. Compare and inspect the assumptions.

The initial figures are illustrative placeholders. Replace them with comparable job records, supplier commitments, your crew’s productive-hour estimates and manufacturer limits. Nothing is automatically saved. Download an editable project before leaving.

How this planner calculates completion

Each simulation samples a productive duration for every task: an entered triangular low / most likely / high distribution, resampling of comparable historical productive hours, or quantity divided by sampled productivity. Optional start-lag and rework events use your entered frequencies and ranges. Start lag begins after task prerequisites and ready times; use the earliest-ready field for an absolute supplier commitment. A shared duration multiplier can represent a day that affects all tasks together. It is not inferred from weather.

A dependency scheduler assigns 15-minute slots, respects crew and equipment conflicts, working days, breaks, ready times and selected weather criteria. Elapsed waits do not consume a crew, but reserve assigned equipment. The task list gives priority when resources conflict; this is not a globally optimized schedule. Setup and cleanup use all listed crews. A finish is completion of cleanup; travel home is shown separately.

Every arrival option uses the same sampled scenarios. The completion percentage is the fraction finishing by your deadline. Unfinished runs remain in the denominator and finish percentiles; a percentile beyond the horizon is shown as unavailable. Costs are conditional on runs that finish, not an unconditional expected loss. The 95% Wilson interval measures simulation sampling variation only.

Weather, heat and safety limits

Forecasts are not observations. This planner holds the loaded forecast fixed and does not simulate future weather, storm formation or future warnings. Missing required data blocks affected outdoor slots. Rain accumulation keeps its original source interval, which may exceed a task window; it is never divided into invented hourly rain. Precipitation probability is a screening threshold, not a completion probability.

All temperature, apparent-temperature and trade limits are illustrative editable assumptions. They are not occupational exposure limits or a safety certification. On-site WBGT, workload, clothing, acclimatization, lightning, ground stability, surface moisture and local restrictions require separate assessment. A missing alert lookup does not mean no alerts. Recheck official warnings and site conditions before work; “confirmed” means you supplied that assessment.

Where to obtain inputs

  • Durations: comparable job logs or optimistic, most likely and credible slower productive hours. Do not mix paid travel with productive hours.
  • Quantity rates: measured team or per-person output, with an explicit efficiency assumption. Changing crew size does not automatically shorten fixed-duration estimates.
  • Costs: loaded labor rates, equipment operating or hire rates, round-trip vehicle distance and visit charges. Standby is a chosen paid fraction of idle working time. Overtime applies to on-site calendar time; travel is charged at base rates.
  • Dependencies and readiness: supplier dates, inspection arrangements, permits, access and site checks. Unknown conditions remain prominently unconfirmed.

Privacy and reproducibility

Tasks, names, costs and results stay in this browser tab. A weather lookup sends rounded coordinates to BusCalc to retrieve public data. Explicit project and receipt downloads contain your private inputs and location; keep them private. Privacy-conscious aggregate counts record visits, successful/invalid calculations and weather lookups using the existing rotating daily network method. They exclude project figures, names, coordinates and result contents; browser Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control suppress optional feature counts. No account or online project storage is provided here. This workspace is browser-only; it does not expand the advertised API/MCP catalog.
