Your inputs

Complete the fields for your selected method. Zero means intentionally zero, not unknown. Currency selection labels amounts; it does not convert exchange rates.

crews
days/week
minutes/day
minutes
minutes
visits/week

How this calculation works

weekly visits=crews*days*floor(usable daily minutes/(service+travel minutes)); customers=floor(visits/weekly visits per customer).

Crew elapsed time, not person-hours. Daily unused time does not roll into another day. Travel includes allocated first/last travel. Cadence is a weekly average, not a routing guarantee.

What information do I need?

Use records for the same job, equipment or accounting period. Only the fields for your selected entry method are required. An unknown amount is not zero.

Input definitions and where to find them
  • Independent crews (crews): Use matching records or a clearly identified owner assumption for independent crews, in the displayed unit and the stated row/period scope.
  • Route days per week (days/week): Actual time from logs/calendar/statement, or an explicitly labeled future schedule. Keep the period in route days per week consistent with all matching costs/outputs.
  • Usable route time per crew per day (minutes/day): Usable elapsed crew-route minutes AFTER breaks/fixed obligations.
  • Elapsed service time per visit (minutes): Observed elapsed visit minutes with this crew.
  • Elapsed travel allocated per visit (minutes): Allocated elapsed travel per visit, including first/last travel where relevant.
  • Visits per customer per week (visits/week): Actual count from job, sales, production or service records for visits per customer per week. Future counts are explicit assumptions; do not infer demand.

Use the Where to find this value controls beside the inputs for available work-it-out helpers. Estimates remain your assumptions; a helper does not verify the source figures.

Worked example

Example amounts use US dollars (USD).

Example answer: Whole visits per crew per day is 7 visits for the illustrative inputs below.

Example inputs
  • Independent crews: 1 crews
  • Route days per week: 5 days/week
  • Usable route time per crew per day: 420.00 minutes/day
  • Elapsed service time per visit: 45.00 minutes
  • Elapsed travel allocated per visit: 15.00 minutes
  • Visits per customer per week: 1.00 visits/week
Whole visits per crew per day
7 visits
Weekly visits
35 visits/week
Recurring customer capacity
35 customers

These illustrative values are not recommended rates or industry averages. Replace every example input with your own figures.

Use the result well

Find recurring-customer capacity from crew route time and supplied visit cadence.

Keep inputs on the same scope and time basis. Calculations retain precision internally; displayed values generally round to two decimal places, with extra precision for very small values and whole-unit rounding where required. Economic comparisons describe your supplied assumptions and do not guarantee future results.
