Your inputs

Complete the fields for your selected method. Zero means intentionally zero, not unknown. Currency selection labels amounts; it does not convert exchange rates.

%

How this calculation works

area per hour=width*speed*field efficiency; use compatible units.

Width and speed are supplied observations. Field efficiency accounts for overlap, turning and interruptions. This is physical throughput, not a service quote or material takeoff.

What information do I need?

Use records for the same job, equipment or accounting period. Only the fields for your selected entry method are required. An unknown amount is not zero.

Input definitions and where to find them
  • Working cut width before overlap adjustment (in): Effective cutting width after stated overlap.
  • Travel speed while cutting (mph): Observed cutting speed, not road/max catalog speed.
  • Field efficiency (%): Observed area output relative to width×speed×elapsed field time, or a clearly labeled assumption.

Use the Where to find this value controls beside the inputs for available work-it-out helpers. Estimates remain your assumptions; a helper does not verify the source figures.

Worked example

Example amounts use US dollars (USD).

Example answer: Effective mowing throughput is 6,000.00 m²/hour for the illustrative inputs below.

Example inputs
  • Working cut width before overlap adjustment: 59.055118110236 in
  • Travel speed while cutting: 3.106855961187 mph
  • Field efficiency: 80.00 %
Effective mowing throughput in acres
1.48 acres/hour
Effective mowing throughput
6,000.00 m²/hour

These illustrative values are not recommended rates or industry averages. Replace every example input with your own figures.

Use the result well

Estimate throughput from deck width speed and explicit field efficiency.

Keep inputs on the same scope and time basis. Calculations retain precision internally; displayed values generally round to two decimal places, with extra precision for very small values and whole-unit rounding where required. Economic comparisons describe your supplied assumptions and do not guarantee future results.
