Complete the fields for your selected method. Zero means intentionally zero, not unknown. Currency selection labels amounts; it does not convert exchange rates.

How this calculation works

net/trip = average driver receipts - allocated cost/trip; trips = ceil(remaining net goal / positive net/trip)

Use the amount shown to the driver; it may already include tips or platform deductions. Add only amounts not already included. Include pickup, delivery, waiting and allocated unpaid return travel. Results are before income taxes and describe the supplied scenario, not promised platform earnings. Averages are your own records or explicit assumptions and include idle time and unpaid repositioning allocated to trips. No orders, tips, future demand, earnings or completion time are guaranteed. A zero remaining goal requires zero additional trips.

What information do I need?

Use records for the same job, equipment or accounting period. Only the fields for your selected entry method are required. An unknown amount is not zero.

Input definitions and where to find them
  • Remaining net earnings goal before income tax (selected currency): Own historical net/trip and all-in cycle log; chosen goal. Owner records or explicit assumption; no account connection or maintained rate tables required.
  • Assumed average driver receipts per trip (selected currency): Own historical net/trip and all-in cycle log; chosen goal. Owner records or explicit assumption; no account connection or maintained rate tables required.
  • Allocated operating and other cost per trip (selected currency): Own historical net/trip and all-in cycle log; chosen goal. Owner records or explicit assumption; no account connection or maintained rate tables required.
  • Average full-session minutes allocated per trip including waiting (minutes): Own historical net/trip and all-in cycle log; chosen goal. Owner records or explicit assumption; no account connection or maintained rate tables required.

Use the Where to find this value controls beside the inputs for available work-it-out helpers. Estimates remain your assumptions; a helper does not verify the source figures.

Worked example

Example amounts use US dollars (USD).

Example answer: Whole trips needed under entered assumptions is 12 trips for the illustrative inputs below.

Example inputs
  • Remaining net earnings goal before income tax: $100.00
  • Assumed average driver receipts per trip: $12.00
  • Allocated operating and other cost per trip: $3.00
  • Average full-session minutes allocated per trip including waiting: 30.00 minutes
Whole trips needed under entered assumptions
12 trips
Elapsed work-session time at entered average
6.00 hours
Net from that whole-trip count
$108.00

These illustrative values are not recommended rates or industry averages. Replace every example input with your own figures.

Use the result well

Translate goal into modeled workload.

Keep inputs on the same scope and time basis. Calculations retain precision internally; displayed values generally round to two decimal places, with extra precision for very small values and whole-unit rounding where required. Economic comparisons describe your supplied assumptions and do not guarantee future results.
