Job baseline and work order
Finish your customer quote first. Record a baseline only after reviewing the scope, customer and price. Later quote edits do not change the baseline. Recording it does not verify customer acceptance.
Good / Better / Best proposals
Save the current quote into each slot after editing its scope and prices. Each option is a fixed snapshot. Alternatives are compared separately, never added together.
Change orders
Record signed price adjustments before tax. Negative amounts are credits. Only changes you mark approved affect the job total. Approval is a manual record; no signature is collected.
Progress and final invoices
Enter each progress invoice total including applicable tax and separately state the tax component already included. Final invoice calculates the amount not already invoiced, and remaining recorded job tax, so earlier bills are not charged twice. Enter payments manually; BusCalc does not collect or verify customer payments.
Estimated versus actual job costs
Use the same cost and tax basis for budget and actual entries. Leave unknown actual costs blank. Final profit remains unavailable until every listed actual cost is supplied. Add missing labor, material, equipment and overhead.
Supplier and subcontractor bids
Compare matching scopes and tax bases. Start with the quoted base, add known exclusions and enter only the adjustment to an already-included allowance. Missing scope is not automatically priced.
Materials purchasing list
Enter net quantities and an explicit allowance. Package rounding applies to each row separately. Package price is optional; an unknown price is not zero. Delivery and tax are excluded.
