How this calculation works

fees=volume*percentage+count*fixed+monthly fee.

User-entered fee schedules; no current provider prices. All fixed fees correspond to the chosen period; refunds and cross-border surcharges must be included separately if relevant.

What information do I need?

Use records for the same job, equipment or accounting period. Only the fields for your selected entry method are required. An unknown amount is not zero.

Input definitions and where to find them
  • Processed sales volume in period (selected currency): Processed sales amount matching the transaction count.
  • Transactions in same period (transactions): Actual count from job, sales, production or service records for transactions in same period. Future counts are explicit assumptions; do not infer demand.
  • Entered processor fee schedules: One row per distinct entered processor fee schedules, on the stated row and period basis. Do not enter both components and their total.
    • Percentage fee (%): Actual comparable observations or a quoted rate for percentage fee, using the same denominator and time basis. Any assumed rate must be explicitly identified.
    • Fixed fee per transaction (selected currency): Matching invoice, quote, statement, bookkeeping record or explicit budget amount for fixed fee per transaction. Use the stated period and exclude amounts already counted in another field. Zero means intentionally excluded/not incurred, not unknown.
    • Fixed fee for chosen period (selected currency): Fixed fee for the WHOLE chosen comparison period despite the key name monthly.

Use the Where to find this value controls beside the inputs for available work-it-out helpers. Estimates remain your assumptions; a helper does not verify the source figures.

Worked example

Example amounts use US dollars (USD).

Example answer: Schedule 1 total period fees is $350.00 for the illustrative inputs below.

Example inputs

These illustrative values are not recommended rates or industry averages. Replace every example input with your own figures.

Use the result well

Compare user-entered fee schedules for the same transaction mix.

Keep inputs on the same scope and time basis. Calculations retain precision internally; displayed values generally round to two decimal places, with extra precision for very small values and whole-unit rounding where required. Economic comparisons describe your supplied assumptions and do not guarantee future results.
