Hydraulics and industrial maintenance
Maintenance repair labor budget
Budget scheduled maintenance tasks using owner-entered intervals and durations.
Your inputs
Complete the fields for your selected method. Zero means intentionally zero, not unknown. Currency selection labels amounts; it does not convert exchange rates.
How this calculation works
annual hours=sum(task duration*annual occurrences); cost=hours*rate.
Occurrences and durations are supplied by the owner; no maintenance interval, safe operating limit or pressure-rating recommendation.
What information do I need?
Use records for the same job, equipment or accounting period. Only the fields for your selected entry method are required. An unknown amount is not zero.
Input definitions and where to find them
- Scheduled maintenance tasks: One row per distinct scheduled maintenance tasks, on the stated row and period basis. Do not enter both components and their total.
- Person-hours per occurrence (person-hours): Sum individual worker time from timesheets, or participating crew × common elapsed productive time. Do not multiply an already summed person-time total again.
- Occurrences per year (per year): Annual event count from an EXISTING owner/manufacturer maintenance schedule; no interval recommendation.
- Loaded labor cost per hour (selected currency): Matching cost total divided by matching productive/operating hours from invoices, compensation records or logs. Use the field’s exact elapsed/person/machine-hour basis.
Use the Where to find this value controls beside the inputs for available work-it-out helpers. Estimates remain your assumptions; a helper does not verify the source figures.
Worked example
Example amounts use US dollars (USD).
Example answer: Annual scheduled maintenance labor is 40.00 person-hours/year for the illustrative inputs below.
Example inputs
- Scheduled maintenance tasks
- Person-hours per occurrence: 2.00 person-hours
- Occurrences per year: 12.00 per year
- Loaded labor cost per hour: $30.00
- Person-hours per occurrence: 4.00 person-hours
- Occurrences per year: 4.00 per year
- Loaded labor cost per hour: $40.00
- Annual scheduled maintenance labor
- 40.00 person-hours/year
- Annual scheduled maintenance labor cost
- $1,360.00
These illustrative values are not recommended rates or industry averages. Replace every example input with your own figures.
Use the result well
Budget scheduled maintenance tasks using owner-entered intervals and durations.
Keep inputs on the same scope and time basis. Calculations retain precision internally; displayed values generally round to two decimal places, with extra precision for very small values and whole-unit rounding where required. Economic comparisons describe your supplied assumptions and do not guarantee future results.
