Your inputs

Complete the fields for your selected method. Zero means intentionally zero, not unknown. Currency selection labels amounts; it does not convert exchange rates.

person-hours

How this calculation works

rate=cleaned area/person-hours; hours=area/rate.

Observed rate is supplied by your measurements. Same task and conditions assumed; person-hours already include the crew. No proprietary production rates.

What information do I need?

Use records for the same job, equipment or accounting period. Only the fields for your selected entry method are required. An unknown amount is not zero.

Input definitions and where to find them
  • Observed cleaned area (ft²): Already measured quantity from logs, meter or field measurement in the selected unit. Do not infer material takeoffs or recommended operating conditions.
  • Observed total person-hours (person-hours): Sum individual productive hours, or crew × common elapsed productive hours.
  • Target area (ft²): Explicit owner-supplied assumption for target area. Label it as a scenario and compare alternatives; do not present it as a forecast.

Use the Where to find this value controls beside the inputs for available work-it-out helpers. Estimates remain your assumptions; a helper does not verify the source figures.

Worked example

Example amounts use US dollars (USD).

Example answer: Observed production rate is 200.00 m²/person-hour for the illustrative inputs below.

Example inputs
  • Observed cleaned area: 10,763.910416709721 ft²
  • Observed total person-hours: 5.00 person-hours
  • Target area: 26,909.776041774305 ft²
Observed production rate
200.00 m²/person-hour
Person-hours for target area
12.50 person-hours
Observed production rate in square feet
2,152.78 ft²/person-hour

These illustrative values are not recommended rates or industry averages. Replace every example input with your own figures.

Use the result well

Measure observed task productivity and required person-hours.

Keep inputs on the same scope and time basis. Calculations retain precision internally; displayed values generally round to two decimal places, with extra precision for very small values and whole-unit rounding where required. Economic comparisons describe your supplied assumptions and do not guarantee future results.
